Backstage

Of course, a theatre company would be useless if it just consisted of actors.  Therefore Harlow Theatre Company also has a number of roles on each and every show that have to be filled by The Crew.  Without the crew the shows would look very much an amateur affair and we feel that this is another area that sets Harlow Theatre Company above other theatre groups.

Some of our crew members have worked professionally in their respective areas but most people who help backstage, do so on a voluntary basis and have a great passion for the areas in which they work.

If you want to get involved and learn more about the backstage workings of a show, contact HTC through the Contact page and we’ll arrange it for you to shadow a crew member on a production, or even arrange specific workshops if there is enough interest from our members.  Find out what Crew roles there are here!

Not interested in being on stage or backstage but still want to contribute?

You could become a member of our Front of House team! 

This is another way of getting involved and it could be as little or as much as you want it to be.  Being an Usher/Programme Seller or Box Office Assistant requires very little commitment.  Find out more here!

Also, there is always the opportunity to get REALLY involved and become a member of HTC's Committee.  The Committee is responsible for keeping the theatre company going - creatively, financially - infact, in every way possible!!  If you feel that passionately about the theatre company, come along to our AGM (usually held in late February or early March.  Find out more details from the HTC monthly member's newsletter!
